The Messaria reservoir in Kos is irrigating all agricultural land and crops in the plain of Messaria through a network of about 10 km long . The total network that was constructed, combined with the Linopotis irrigation that irrigates through the Pylos reservoir in the wider region, is 25 km and the watering of the land is done by means of electronically controlled flow meters placed for this purpose. Also, fire hydrants were placed in easily accessible and crucial locations for the needs of firefighting.
